Tom has an interdisciplinary background in the education, insurance, and environmental science sectors. He specializes in developing and implementing the customer experience, implementing data analysis with business analytics, as well as adopting best practices with cybersecurity and privacy with businesses. He is currently a professor at Conestoga College where he teaches data science, programming with R and Python, content management systems, and how businesses can utilize generative AI. Additionally, Tom works with eLearningCurve as a course developer and instructional designer. He is currently developing courses on data products, application programming interfaces, and semantics layers. He also works at Madecraft where he is developing a series of modules and courses on data literacy and how to obtain business insights with data analysis. Tom is active in public speaking where he presents to investor groups, business associations, not for profit organizations, schools and community groups on topics such as developing data strategies, applying cybersecurity practices, utilizing digital solutions, the use of generative AI in business, and the future of work. Tom holds three Bachelor Degrees with Honours in environmental science, history, and education. He also holds a Masters Degree, specializing in military psychiatry. Tom has also acquired advanced certifications and credentials in data science, cybersecurity, and generative AI.
